하명심 회장 등은 단양군청을 방문해 관내 어려운 이웃을 위해 사용해 달라며 김문근 군수에게 성금을 전달했다.

전달된 성금은 연구회가 제18회 단양마늘축제에서 마늘, 마늘종 장아찌 만들기 체험 및 판매 부스를 운영해 마련한 수익금이다.

하명심 회장은 “작은 정성이지만 지역 내 어려운 이웃을 돕는 데 조금이나마 보탬이 됐으면 좋겠다”고 말했다.

한편 단양군향토음식연구회는 ‘단양의 숨겨진 옛 맛을 찾아서’라는 저서를 발간하는 등 향토음식 보존과 맛 계승을 위한 노력을 하고 있다.

또 직접 만든 된장, 고추장을 어려운 이웃과 나누는 등 꾸준한 이웃사랑을 실천하고 있다.
