【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주교육지원청과 충주시는 10월 2일 13:30 충청북도중원교육문화원 공연장에서 「2024 미래교육도시 충주 선포식」을 개최했다. 이 자리에는 윤건영 충청북도교육감, 조길형 충주시장, 이정훈 충주교육지원청 교육장, 학교 교육관계자, 학생, 학부모 등 시민 400여명이 참석했다.

충주청소년우륵국악단 연주곡과 예뜨락합창단 공연 및 충주시민이 그려보는 미래교육도시 충주의 홍보 영상과 충주시와 충주교육지원청이 함께 만들어갈 미래교육도시 충주 비전을 발표하였다.

미래교육도시 충주 선포식은 교육발전특구 시범(선도)지역 지정을 기념하여, 충주시, 충주교육지원청, 지역 대학 및 산업체 등 지역의 주체들이 충주교육 발전을 위해 우수 인재 양성에서 정주까지 종합적으로 지원하는 ‘지속 가능한 미래교육으로 더 가까이 충주’의 비전을 발표하고 공유하기 위해 함께 뜻을 모으는 자리가 되었다.

충주시는 지난 2월 교육발전특구 시범(선도)지역으로 지정되어 충주교육지원청, 지역 대학과 함께 6개의 중점 추진과제(△충주형 공교육 경쟁력 강화 △글로컬 미래인재 양성 △디지털 친화 교육혁신 △지역특화 맞춤형 인력양성 △지역정주 인프라 및 환경 개선 △문화특구 연계·문화산업 인재양성)를 선정하여, 교육발전특구 사업을 추진하고 있다.

또한, 아동친화도시로서 지역의 미래인 아이들의 건강한 성장을 위해 아동 예체능 바우처 지원, 아동·청소년 문화공간 확충, 고교생 글로벌 해외연수 등 아동·청소년들에게 필요한 정책을 발굴·지원하고 있으며, 어린이 체육공원과 청소년 실내놀이체육시설을 건립 중에 있다. 우수 평생학습도시로서 맞춤형 평생학습 프로그램을 통해 시민들의 다양한 교육 욕구를 충족하며 시민들의 평생학습 지원에도 적극 노력 중이다.

충청북도교육청과 협력사업으로는 탄금공원 내 세계무술박물관을 리모델링하여 중부권 광역발명교육지원센터 건립, 수영장과 건강스파· 늘봄센터 등 삼원초 학교복합시설 건립, (구)남한강초 폐교를 리모델링하여 평생학습관 이전 등 교육도시로서의 기반을 마련하기 위해 교육기관과의 협력에도 최선을 다하고 있다.

충주교육지원청에서는 실력다짐 충북교육을 위한 5대 핵심정책(△어디서나 운동장 △공부하는 학교 △언제나 책봄 △모두의 다채움 △온마을 배움터)를 바탕으로 4대 시책(△학생성장을 지원하는 미래학교, △삶의 품격을 높이는 감성교육△교육공동체와 함께하는 교육복지 △지역과 상생하는 교육생태계)과 연계하여 충주교육발전특구사업이 활성화 되도록 학교, 지역사회가 협업하기로 하였다.

윤건영 충청북도교육감은 “교육발전특구와 연계해 학생들이 지역사회에서 다양한 경험을 쌓아 성장하며, 지역의 주역으로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 지자체 및 지역사회와 지속적으로 협력하겠다”고 하였다.

 조길형 충주시장은 “성공적인 교육발전특구 사업의 추진을 통해 수준 높은 교육환경을 조성하고 충주시가 미래교육도시로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 하였다.

이정훈 교육장은 “미래교육도시 충주에서 실력다짐 충북교육 핵심 정책을 실현하고, 지역의 교육력을 바탕으로 공교육을 강화하여 지역의 우수인재 양성에 힘쓰겠다”고 하였다. 

 ‘교육발전특구 워크숍(2부)’에서는 ‘전국 교육발전특구 동향과 발전 방향 모색’ 강연 및 충주시 교육발전특구 추진계획 등을 공유하며, 충주지역에서 더 양질의 교육을 받을 수 있도록 지역 교육을 혁신하는 발전 방안을 논의하였다.

The Future Education City Chungju Declaration Ceremony was held to commemorate the designation of the Education Development Special Zone Pilot (Leading) Region, and was a place where local stakeholders such as Chungju City, Chungju Office of Education, local universities, and industries gathered together to announce and share the vision of ‘Closer to Chungju with Sustainable Future Education’ that comprehensively supports the development of Chungju education from nurturing excellent talent to settling down.
