충북대, 2021.메이커 스페이스 구축운영사업 전문랩 부문 선정

【브레이크뉴스 충북】임창용 기자=충북대학교(총장 김수갑)가 중소벤처기업부의 ‘2021년도 메이커 스페이스 구축·운영사업’ 전문랩 부문에 최종 선정됐다. 

 

이 사업은 시제품 제작, 양산 등 전문 메이커 활동을 통한 제조창업 촉진과 혁신적인 아이디어를 구현하기 위해 지원하는 사업으로, 정부와 지자체로부터 올해 총 20억 원 규모로 공간, 장비 구축 및 운영비를 지원받고, 향후 최대 5년(3+2년)간 프로그램 및 센터 운영비를 지원받게 된다.

 

충북대학교 메이커 스페이스는 창업지원단 내에 ‘충북 PRO 메이커스’라는 이름으로 설치할 예정이며, 전용공간(1,391㎡)과 창업지원공간(2,415㎡), 산업용 장비(38종 55대)를 활용하여 고품질의 시제품 및 초도제품 생산서비스를 유·무상으로 제공한다.

 

본격적인 서비스는 리모델링과 추가 장비도입이 마무리되는 올해 12월 중순부터 진행될 예정이며, 사전 안내 및 홍보를 통하여 지역 주민과 기업에게 온오프라인 사전예약을 진행할 예정이다. 

 

김용기 천문우주학과 교수가 총괄책임자를 맡은 이 사업은 센터 조직을 구성한 후 지역의 일반랩 및 민간 메이커스페이스와 협력하여 무료 장비 활용 교육 및 메이커 문화 확산을 위한 다양한 프로그램도 진행할 예정이다. 

 

김수갑 총장은 “이번 사업은 충북대 창업지원단을 중심으로 산학협력단, 관련 단과대학이 함께 준비하고, 충청북도와 청주시가 적극적으로 행·재정적 지원을 적극적으로 추진한 결과”라며 “지역 주체들과 대학의 협력을 통해 지역 창업거점 역할 및 메이커 문화 활성화를 위해 충북대학교가 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
