충북 괴산군은 산막이 호수길의 전 구간을 주말(토‧일요일) 및 공휴일 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 개방한다고 3일 밝혔다.

산막이 호수길은 동절기 기간 안전사고 예방을 위해 지난 1월 10일부터 2월 28일까지 개방을 중지하고 휴장했었다.

호수길의 괴산댐 공도교 구간은 안전사고 예방을 위해 주말 및 공휴일에만 통행이 가능하며 산책로(육상 및 수상) 구간은 평일에도 이용할 수 있다.

다만, 산막이길의 유람선은 운항로의 결빙 등 안전 상황을 최종 확인 후 운영업체에서 이달 중순쯤 운영을 재개할 예정이다.

산막이 호수길은 총 2.3㎞(폭 1.5~1.8ｍ)로 지난해 9월 산막이옛길 맞은편에 조성됐다. 

호수길은 육상 나무받침(데크) 1,151ｍ, 수상 데크 861ｍ, 야자 매트길 299ｍ 구간과 괴산댐 공도교(댐 위에 난 통행로) 구간으로 구성돼 있다. 공도교에서는 괴산호의 풍광을 한눈에 담을 수 있다.

군은 명품 걷기 길인 ‘산막이옛길’에 조성된 호수길(2.2㎞)과 연하협 구름다리(길이 167ｍ)를 잇는 ‘산막이옛길 리본(RE:born) 프로젝트’도 2028년 말까지 추진 중이다.

80억 원이 투입되는 이 사업이 마무리되면 괴산호를 한 바퀴 도는 순환형 둘레길이 완성된다.

송인헌 군수는 “산막이호수길 재개방으로 방문객들이 괴산의 수려한 자연을 다시 즐길 수 있게 돼 기쁘다”며 “방문객들이 안전하게 둘레길을 이용할 수 있도록 시설물 관리에 최선을 다하겠다"라고 말했다.

한편, 괴산군 또 하나의 명소인 자연울림 음악분수는 동절기 안전사고 및 시설물 동파방지를 위해 이달 30일까지 휴장한 뒤 4월에 아름다운 자태를 뽐낼 예정이다.
