【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청 직속기관인 자연과학교육원과 단재교육연수원은 3일, 신임 원장 취임을 계기로 기관 운영의 새 출발에 나섰다.

충북 과학교육을 이끌어 온 김희기 금천고등학교 교장은 제22대 자연과학교육원 원장으로 취임했다. 

김희기 원장은 1989년 교직에 입문해 중‧고등학교 현장에서 학생 지도와 교육과정 운영을 담당해 왔으며, 한국교원대학교 종합교육연수원에서 교육연구사와 교육연구관으로 근무하며 교육 정책과 연구 경험을 쌓았다. 

이후 자연과학교육원 전시체험부 부장과 환경교육센터 분원장, 중‧고등학교 교장을 역임하며 과학 체험 교육과 학교 경영 전반에 대한 전문성을 갖췄다.

김희기 자연과학교육원장은 취임사를 통해 “미래 사회를 이끌 창의융합형 인재 양성을 위해 학생 중심의 체험‧탐구 활동을 강화하고, 지역과 함께 성장하는 자연과학교육 플랫폼을 구축하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

또한 제27대 단재교육연수원장으로 이미숙 원장이 취임했다. 

이미숙 원장은 1987년 교직에 입문해 중‧고등학교 현장을 두루 거쳤으며, 교육연구사와 장학사로 근무하며 중등교육 행정 업무를 담당했다. 이후 교감과 공모 교장을 역임하고, 충북교육청 교육국 중등교육과장을 거쳐 제27대 단재교육연수원장으로 취임했다.

이미숙 원장 취임 첫 일정으로는 직원들과 함께 단재 신채호 선생 사당과 묘소를 참배하며 연수원의 설립 취지와 교육적 가치를 되새겼다. 

이미숙 단재교육연수원장은 “선열들의 희생과 정신을 계승하는 일은 여전히 중요한 과제”라며 “교직원 역량 강화는 물론 올바른 역사 인식과 나라사랑 정신 확산에도 단재교육연수원이 책임 있는 역할을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
