【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=단양군이 수소충전 인프라를 구축하며 탄소중립 교통체계 전환에 본격적으로 나섰다.

군에 따르면 지난 26일 단양읍 별곡리에서 수소 승용차와 버스를 동시에 충전할 수 있는 ‘단양군 수소충전소’ 준공식을 개최했다.

이번 사업에는 국비와 지방비를 포함해 총 35억 원이 투입됐다. 

충전소는 승용차는 물론 대형 버스까지 안정적으로 수용할 수 있도록 설계됐으며, 향후 다양한 수소 모빌리티 보급 확대의 거점 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다. 

특히 하루 약 60대 이상의 수소차 충전이 가능한 처리 능력을 갖춰 지역 내 수소차 운행 여건이 한층 개선될 전망이다.

수소 저장·공급 설비도 체계적으로 구축해 안정적인 연료 공급 체계를 마련했다.

또한 기존 LPG 충전소 부지를 활용한 ‘복합형 충전소’로 조성해 사업 효율성을 높였으며, 한국가스안전공사의 완성검사를 통과해 시설 안전성도 확보했다.

군은 이번 충전소 준공을 단순한 기반시설 확충을 넘어 교통체계의 친환경 전환을 알리는 신호탄으로 보고 있다. 

‘대한민국 대표 관광도시’라는 지역 정체성과 맞물려 친환경 관광 생태계를 확산하는 전환점이 될 것이라는 기대다. 

수소차 이용객의 접근성과 편의성이 개선되면서 외부 친환경 차량 유입 역시 확대될 것으로 전망된다.

충전 인프라 구축에 발맞춰 친환경 자동차 보급 지원 정책도 강화한다. 

군은 올해 수소승용차 구매보조금 2억 6,800만 원을 편성해 1대당 3,350만 원을 정액 지원한다. 

아울러 전기차 구매 지원 예산 26억 3,700만 원을 편성해 승용차 기준 최대 1,296만 원까지 보조금을 지급할 계획이다.

군 관계자는 “이번 수소충전소 준공은 단양군이 미래 에너지 전환과 탄소중립 사회로 나아가는 중요한 첫걸음”이라며 “앞으로도 친환경 에너지 인프라를 지속적으로 확충해 지속가능한 지역 발전 기반을 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
