【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군이 고용노동부 주관 2026년도 청년 고용지원 공모사업인 ‘청년도전지원사업’과 ‘청년성장프로젝트’에 모두 선정되며 지역 청년 지원 정책에 속도를 낼 전망이다.

  두 공모사업에 동시 선정된 지방정부는 충북 도내에서 진천군이 유일하다.

  이번 선정은 군이 청년 고용과 자립 지원을 핵심 군정 과제로 삼고, 지역 실정에 맞는 체계적인 청년정책 기반을 구축해 온 노력의 결실로 평가된다.

  ‘청년도전지원사업’은 구직을 단념했거나 장기간 미취업 상태에 있는 청년을 발굴해 심리 회복, 진로 탐색, 취업역량 강화 프로그램 등을 지원하는 사업이다. 

  군은 지역 청년 실태를 반영한 맞춤형 상담과 사례관리, 직무체험 프로그램을 운영해 청년들의 사회 진입을 단계적으로 지원할 계획이다.

  ‘청년성장프로젝트’는 미취업 청년을 대상으로 직무역량 강화 교육, 멘토링, 네트워킹, 기업 연계 프로그램 등을 제공해 장기 실업을 예방하고 안정적인 취업을 돕는다. 

  특히 지역 산업단지와 연계한 실질적인 취업 성과 창출에 중점을 둘 방침이다.

  군은 이번 공모 선정으로 확보한 국비를 바탕으로 단계별 맞춤형 프로그램을 체계적으로 운영하고, 사후관리까지 강화해 최근 증가세를 보이고 있는 청년 ‘쉬었음’ 현상을 완화하고 노동시장 재진입을 적극 지원할 계획이다. 

  이를 통해 청년이 다시 도전하고 성장할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고, 지역사회 활력 회복에도 이바지할 것으로 기대된다.

  이명호 군 인구정책과 주무관은 “청년 한 명 한 명의 상황에 맞춘 밀착 지원을 통해 구직단념 청년의 재도전과 성장 기반을 마련하겠다”며 “지역 기업과의 협력을 확대해 실질적인 취업 연계 성과를 만들어 가겠다”고 밝혔다.

  한편 군은 상반기 중 참여 청년을 모집해 사업을 본격 추진할 예정이다.
