【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=정은경 보건복지부 장관이 12일 통합돌봄 사업 우수 지방정부로 꼽히는 충북 진천군을 찾았다.

  이번 방문은 오는 2026년 3월 전국으로 시행되는 ‘돌봄통합지원법’과 관련해 통합돌봄 사업의 준비 상황을 점검하고 지역 현장의 실제 운영 사례를 확인하고자 이뤄졌다.

  첫 일정인 간담회에서는 지난 7년간 진천군의 보건, 의료, 돌봄을 아우르는 통합돌봄 운영 성과를 보고 받고 담당 공무원과 지역 전문가들의 제도 개선 의견을 청취했다.

  이후 의사, 간호사, 영양사, 사회복지사, 물리치료사로 구성돼 전담팀으로 운영되는 돌봄스테이션 사업 현장을 방문해 운영 메커니즘을 파악했다.

  정 장관은 어르신이 입원하자마자 퇴원 후 생활 계획을 상담하고 돌봄이 필요한 대상자는 퇴원과 동시에 일상생활(가사, 식사, 목욕 등), 보건의료 서비스(방문진료, 간호, 영양, 재활 등)를 지원하는 진천군의 돌봄 시스템에 만족감을 나타냈다.

  이어 재택의료센터와 관련해 만성적인 의료 욕구가 있는 장기요양 등급자 주민들을 위한 의료 서비스가 어떻게 이뤄지는지 확인했다.

  한편 송기섭 진천군수는 정 장관과의 환담 자리에서 통합돌봄 사업의 향후 방향성을 제안하는 것과 더불어 충북의 필수의료 인프라 부족 문제를 설명하고 이에 대한 지원을 건의했다.

  충북은 권역응급의료센터가 충북대병원 1곳에 집중, 남부권 응급환자는 대전으로 이송해야 하는 구조적 한계 탓에 ‘조기 사망’을 뜻하는 치료가능사망률이 2023년 기준 49.94명으로 전국 평균(45.36명)을 크게 웃돌아 전국 1위를 나타내는 현실을 설명했다.

  이에 주민들의 요청에 따라 권역응급의료센터 지정, 닥터헬기 배치 등 충북 필수 의료 인프라 확충과 ‘필수의료 강화 및 지역의료 격차 해소를 위한 특별법(필수의료 특별법)’의 조속 통과 등을 건의했다.
