김용규 협의회장은 인사말에서 “바쁘신 가운데 2025년 4차 정기회의에 참석해 주신 자문위원 여러분께 깊이 감사드린다”며 “우리 협의회는 주민과 함께하는 평화공공외교의 중심에서, 지역의 목소리가 통일정책에 반영될 수 있도록 더욱 적극적인 의견수렴과 소통에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 민주평화통일자문회의는 헌법에 근거한 평화통일정책 대통령 자문기관으로 2025년 11월 민주평화통일자문회의 22기 출범하였으며, 옥천군협의회에는 45명의 자문위원이 위촉되어 활동 중이며, 통일 공감대 형성과 북한이탈주민 지원 사업들을 지속해서 추진하고 있다.
