【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 보은군은 ‘2025년 청소년정책 우수지자체 정부포상식’에서 국무총리표창을 수상했다고 11일 밝혔다.

이번 정부포상은 지난 10일 서울 은행회관 국제회의실에서 열렸다. 성평등가족부에서 청소년정책을 적극 추진하고 우수한 성과를 거둔 지자체를 대상으로 시상했으며 전국 17개 시도와 228개 시군구를 대상으로 진행됐다. 

올해 정부포상은 △대통령표창 3점 △국무총리표창 6점 △장관표창 10점이 수여됐으며, 충청북도 내에서는 보은군이 유일하게 수상하며 청소년정책의 우수성을 전국적으로 인정받았다.

보은군은 인구소멸지역이라는 열악한 여건 속에서도 청소년을 지역의 미래 핵심 주체로 육성하기 위해 실효성 있는 정책을 지속적으로 추진해 온 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

특히 2023년 10월 개관한 보은군청소년센터는 △청소년전용공간 조성 △키오스크 기반 자율이용시스템 구축 △실내암벽장 및 VR‧AR 체험실 운영 △청소년 전용카페 도입 등 기존의 틀을 뛰어넘는 차별화된 시설 및 프로그램을 갖추며 큰 호평을 받았다.

또한 30년 이상 이어져 온 일본 자매결연도시와의 국제 청소년교류, 국내외 교류 활성화, 청소년 자치기구 운영을 통한 민주적 참여 기반 확대, 위기청소년 보호 및 선제 대응체계 구축 등 도시 못지않은 성장 환경을 조성한 점도 주요 성과로 꼽혔다..

군은 이번 수상을 계기로 청소년이 지역에서 성장과 진로를 설계할 수 있는 기반을 더욱 확대하기 위해 △문화·체험 △진로교육 △정서지원 등 분야별 정책을 균형 있게 추진하고, 청소년 의견을 정책에 반영하는 참여 시스템도 강화해 나간다는 방침이다.
