【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 국토교통부가 주최한 ‘2025년 도시재생 종합성과평가 경진대회’에서 준공사업지 부문 우수상을 수상했다고 11일 밝혔다.

시상식은 지난 10일 서울 콘래드 호텔에서 열린 ‘2025 도시재생 한마당 10주년 기념행사’에서 진행됐다.

종합성과평가 경진대회는 도시재생사업을 통해 우수 성과를 창출한 지역을 홍보하고 준공 사업의 지속적 관리·운영을 독려하기 위해 마련됐다.

경진대회에서는 64곳 사업지를 대상으로 예선과 본선 평가를 거쳐 준공 사업 부문 4곳, 운영 관리 부문 4곳 등 총 8곳의 우수지역을 선정했다.

군은 도시재생 공모사업에 선정, ‘새로운 시작! 함께 채워가는 음성의 중심도시’를 목표로 쇠퇴하는 원도심 활성화를 위해 2019년부터 2024년까지 총사업비 434여억원을 투입해 지역에 활력을 불어넣고 주거복지 수준을 높였다.

또 구 복지회관 부지에 조성된 주거복지 오픈플랫폼은 주거공급 및 청년창업 활성화를 지원하는 거점 역할을 하고 있다.

특히 청년과 신혼부부를 위한 행복주택(56호)을 통해 지역 주거 여건을 개선하고, 상생협력상가와 청년공유오피스를 조성해 취·창업 활동을 체계적으로 지원함으로써 청년들의 지역 정착 기반을 강화하고 있다.

유휴부지를 활용해 조성된 설성어울림센터는 공동체 활성화 거점으로 다함께 돌봄센터·청소년상담복지센터·주민회의실 운영을 통해 다양한 연령층을 대상으로 수요맞춤형 서비스를 공급하고 있다.

이 외에 방치된 한옥 리모델링을 통해 조성된 향기담음카페(골목쉼터 및 공동체정원)는 주민 쉼터 및 휴게공간으로 안정적인 수익 창출을 통해 지역 활성화를 위한 기능을 수행하고 있다.

이창민 균형개발과장은 “지속적인 도시재생사업 추진을 통해 지역 활력 회복에 힘쓰며, 지역사회에 실질적인 변화를 만들기 위해 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
