【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 보은군은 지난 1일 진천군 농업회사법인 ㈜썬메이트를 방문해 파프리카 스마트팜 운영 사례를 견학하고 스마트팜의 안정적인 정착과 스마트농업 확산 전략의 적용점을 모색했다.

이번 견학에는 최재형 보은군수와 보은군의회 성제홍 산업경제위원장, 스마트농업과 및 농업기술센터 관계자 등 12명이 참석해 생산·선별·출하 자동화 시스템, 인력 운영 방식, 에너지 효율화 사례 등을 청취하고 현장을 둘러보며 실질적 정책 반영을 위한 정보를 폭넓게 수집했다. 

최재형 군수는 현장에서 “시설·유통을 연계하는 스마트농업 선순환 체계를 구축해 농촌 일자리와 지역경제 활력까지 연결하는 것이 목표”라며 “선도 기업의 운영 노하우를 보은에 맞게 적용해 미래 농업 경쟁력을 갖춰야 한다”고 말했다.

견학지인 썬메이트는 2.5ha 규모의 스마트온실 2동을 기반으로 파프리카와 고추를 생산하며 GAP 인증과 수출 실적을 보유한 선도 스마트팜 경영체다.

군은 올해 탄부면 임한리에 조성된 ‘양념채소 스마트팜’에서 첫 쪽파 수확에 성공하며 생산·출하 시스템의 안정화를 입증했고, 수확물은 ‘일하는 밥퍼 작업장’에서 깐 쪽파로 손질해 김치공장에 납품되며 농산물 판로 확대와 노인 일자리 창출을 동시에 이끌어냈다.

아울러 군은 시설 스마트팜을 넘어 기후·토양·병해충·생육 데이터 기반의 ‘노지 스마트농업’ 기술 적용도 확대하고 있으며, 현장 데이터 분석을 통해 노동력 절감과 생산성 향상을 꾀하는 방향으로 확장 중이다.

특히 보은군은 농림축산식품부의 ‘스마트농업 육성지구’ 공모에도 적극 참여해 장기 임대형 스마트팜, 스마트 APC, 민간기업 유치가 연계된 대규모 스마트농업 벨트를 구축하고 있다. 

현재 스마트팜 생산–유통–물류 등 전후방 산업을 집적화한 ‘보은형 스마트농업 육성지구’ 모델을 마련 중이며, 사업 기반 확충과 기업 참여 방안 등을 검토해 육성지구 지정을 추진하고 있다.

최재형 보은군수는 “이번 견학을 통해 선도 기업의 운영 사례를 기반으로 사업 실효성을 높이고, 스마트원예단지 조성과 스마트농업 육성지구 지정을 차질 없이 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
