【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군은 장뜰시장에서 주민들에게 업사이클링 시장바구니 1000장을 배부했다고 2일 밝혔다.

이번에 배부된 시장바구니는 사용 후 폐기되는 현수막을 재활용해 제작한 것으로, 일회용 비닐봉투 사용을 줄이고 생활 속 친환경 소비문화를 확산하기 위한 취지다. 

군은 증평군새마을회와 협력해 폐현수막 수거부터 제작까지 일련의 과정을 체계화하며 자원순환 실천 사업을 적극 추진하고 있다.

이날 시장을 찾은 한 주민은 “시장에 올 때마다 비닐봉투를 여러 개 사용했는데, 현수막으로 만든 장바구니는 튼튼하면서도 환경 보호에 도움이 된다는 점이 더 좋다”고 말했다.

군은 이번 사업을 통해 폐현수막 발생량 감소는 물론, 주민들이 일상에서 자연스럽게 친환경 생활을 실천하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

군 관계자는 “군민이 체감할 수 있는 자원순환 정책을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 협력해 친환경 생활문화를 정착시키는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
