【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시와 청주시문화산업진흥재단, 청주시한국공예관은 2일 오후 2시 문화제조창 본관 5층 공연장에서 ‘유네스코 창의도시 네트워크 청주 비전 선포식’을 개최했다.

이번 선포식은 청주시가 지난 10월 유네스코 창의도시 네트워크 ‘공예와 민속예술 분야’에 최종 선정된 것을 기념하고, 청주가 지닌 공예문화의 정체성과 새로운 도시 비전을 시민과 공유하기 위해 마련됐다.

행사에는 이범석 청주시장 등 시 관계자와 지역 예술가, 기관 관계자, 시민 등 200여명이 참석했으며, ‘공예도시 청주’가 세계 창의도시로서 한 단계 더 도약하기 위한 비전과 지속가능한 발전의 방향성을 선포하는 의미 있는 시간으로 진행됐다.

선포식은 사전 공연을 시작으로 △개회 및 국민의례 △내빈소개 영상 상영 △유네스코 창의도시 홍보영상 상영 △추진 경과 및 향후 계획 보고 등이 차례로 이어졌다.

이어진 비전 선포식에서는 시장을 포함한 7명의 공동 낭독자가 무대에 올라 선언문을 발표했다. 

참가자 전원은 지역 공예작가들이 제작한 ‘창의트리’(자개 오브제 트리)에 지속가능성을 상징하는 메시지가 담긴 매듭을 거는 공동 퍼포먼스를 펼치며 ‘창의도시 청주’의 출발을 함께 축하했다.

또한 행사에서는 ‘창의리더 100’ 위촉도 진행됐다. 창의리더 100은 공예계뿐 아니라 문화예술, 교육, 산업경제, 언론 등 다양한 분야에서 선도적인 역할을 하는 인물들로 구성된 지역 대표 창의리더 그룹이다.

위촉된 창의리더들은 앞으로 △지속가능한 창의도시 청주를 위한 자문 △시민 인식 확산 활동 △국내외 창의도시 네트워크 강화 등에 힘을 보탤 예정이다.

이와 함께 공예관 유리공예 특별전 ‘유리;시 Glass: Poetry, Time, Place’ 및 공예스튜디오 입주작가전 ‘온기: 겹쳐지고 흩어지는’ 개막식도 진행됐다. 

두 전시는 각각 문화제조창 본관 3층 갤러리 6과 갤러리 5에서 진행되며 ‘유리;시’는 내년 1월 25일까지, ‘온기: 겹쳐지고 흩어지는’은 오는 12월 21일까지 이어진다.

이범석 청주시장은 “유네스코 창의도시 선정은 청주의 문화적 저력을 세계적으로 인정받은 성과”라며 “이번 비전 선포식을 계기로 청주가 아시아를 대표하는 공예 창의도시로 도약하도록 지속 가능한 정책과 국제 교류를 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

All participants celebrated the launch of "Creative City Cheongju" by performing a joint performance, tying knots containing messages symbolizing sustainability to a "Creative Tree" (a mother-of-pearl object tree) crafted by local craftsmen.

The event also featured the appointment of the "Creative Leaders 100." This group represents a representative group of regional creative leaders, comprised of leaders in various fields, including crafts, culture and arts, education, industrial economy, and media.
