【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 단양군은 지난 6월 27일부터 11월 28일까지 공설운동장에서 매월 마지막 주 금요일 진행한 ‘재활용 가능 자원 모으기 행사’를 성공적으로 마무리했다고 밝혔다. 

2016년부터 이어져 온 이 행사는 주민들의 일상 속 자원순환 참여를 높이기 위한 정례 캠페인으로, 올해도 지역 주민들의 꾸준한 관심과 동참이 돋보였다.

올해 행사에는 단체 및 개인 총 320명이 참여했으며, 주민들이 직접 모아온 우유팩 2,860kg과 폐전지 5,966kg이 수거됐다. 

특히 단양군은 5년 연속 ‘주민 1인당 폐전지 분리수거량 도내 1위’를 기록하며 생활 폐자원 회수 체계가 안정적으로 정착돼 있음을 다시 한번 입증했다.

군은 행사 전 읍·면별 안내와 현장 홍보를 강화해 어린이부터 청년, 어르신까지 다양한 연령층이 참여하도록 유도했으며, 이를 통해 지역 환경교육의 장으로서의 의미도 크게 확대됐다.

이기태 자원순환팀장은 “일상 속에서 실천하는 분리배출이 지역 환경을 지키는 가장 실질적인 방법”이라며 “앞으로도 주민들이 체감할 수 있는 자원순환 정책을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 군은 향후에도 재활용 가능자원 모으기 행사와 더불어 다양한 참여형 프로그램을 운영해 주민 실천 중심의 자원순환 문화를 꾸준히 확산해 나갈 계획이다.
