먼저 NH농협은행 옥천군지부에서 지역 인재 육성에 기여하기 위해 옥천군장학회에 장학금 300만 원을 기탁했다. 군지부는 2015년부터 올해까지 총 4,600만 원의 장학금을 꾸준히 기탁하며 지역사회 발전과 교육 지원에 앞장서 왔다. 이번 기탁은 올해에도 변함없는 지역 사랑을 실천하는 것이다.

기탁식에 참석한 이범섭 지부장은 “지역의 우수 인재들이 경제적 부담 없이 학업에 매진할 수 있도록 도움이 되고 싶다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

옥천군장학회는 기탁받은 장학금을 지역 학생들의 학업 지원과 교육환경 개선을 위해 투명하고 효율적으로 사용할 계획이다. 

같은 날 한국농어촌공사 옥천영동지사(지사장 김상우)도 옥천군의 발전을 위해 고향사랑기부금 100만 원과 이웃사랑 후원금 100만 원을 각각 전달했다. 지난해에 이어 어느덧 두 번째 나눔으로, 사회복지, 교육 등 분야에서 옥천군민에 힘이 되기를 바라는 뜻을 전했다. 특히 고향사랑기부금은 관외 거주 직원들이 뜻을 모아 개인별 기부로 참여해 더욱 의미가 크다. 

김 지사장은“앞으로도 지역사회와의 상생을 위해 지속적인 관심과 노력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.
