【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군이 민선8기 출범 3주년을 지나는 시점에서 군민과의 약속인 공약 추진 상황을 꼼꼼히 점검하며 군민과의 약속인 공약 이행에 박차를 가하고 있다.

  군은 지난 2022년 8월 △활력있는 경제도시 △군민만족 복지도시 △쾌적환경 맑은도시 △혁신성장 농업도시 △문화교육 특화도시 등 5대 분야, 88개 공약, 100개 세부사업으로 구성된 민선 8기 ‘생생88 군민만족 공약’을 발표한 바 있다.

  군의 2025년 2분기 기준 자체평가 결과, 100개 세부사업 중 42개 사업이 완료됐거나 이행 후 지속 추진 중이며 54개 사업이 정상 추진 중으로 현재 민선8기 공약 이행은 전반적으로 정상 추진되고 있다고 보고 있다.

  특히 공약 사업의 평균 진행률을 의미하는 이행률은 78.1%로 한국매니페스토실천본부가 지난 5월 발표한 충북 도내 11개 시군 공약 평균 이행률인 43.7%와 비교해 도내 최상위권의 높은 이행률을 보이고 있다.

  또 정상추진 중인 사업의 비율을 의미하는 정상추진율은 96%에 달한다.

  현재까지 주요완료 사업은 △초평호 제2하늘다리 건설 △반려동물 테마공원 조성 △혁신도시공원 키즈 놀이시설 설치 △신척저수지 스마트 그린도시 사업 △혁신도시 어린이(가족)특화공간 조성 △진천예술단 창단 △진천 문화시설 무료입장 △진천읍 실내체육관 건립 △진천읍·문백면 파크골프장 조성 등이며 군은 완료된 사업에 대해서도 주민 생활에 불편이 없도록 지속 관리해 나가고 있다.

  다만, 현재 지연되고 있는 4개 사업에 대해서는 조속히 정상 추진될 수 있도록 중점 관리할 방침이다.

  공약 이행을 위한 군의 노력 주요 평가에서 나타나고 있다.

  지난 7월 24일 국립경국대학교 안동캠퍼스에서 열린 한국매니페스토실천본부 주관 ‘2025 전국 기초단체장 매니페스토 우수사례 경진대회’ 불평등 완화 부문(군 단위)에서 도내에서 유일하게 진천군이 최우수상을 수상했다.

  주요 미완 공약으로 스마트테크시티 개발 사업, 스포츠테마타운 추진 등은 민선 8기 공약에서는 제외되었으나 군의 현안 사업으로 분류해 중점 관리하고 있다.

  특히 지난 6월 3일 치러진 제21대 대통령 선거에서 당시 이재명 대선 후보 진천군 지역공약에 최종 반영되면서 사업 추진에 더욱 탄력을 받게 됐다.

  군은 앞으로 공약을 포함한 군 현안사업이 새 정부 국정과제, 중앙부처별 주요 업무 등에 반영돼 실질적으로 추진될 수 있도록 다각도의 노력을 기울인다는 계획이다.
