【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군이 30일 옥천군장애인단체협의회에게 장애인 슬로프 특장 차량 ‘스타리아 11인승’을 전달했다.

이번 차량 지원은 옥천군에서 장애인들의 이동권 증진과 생활 복지 향상을 위해 전액 군비로 예산을 편성하여 추진되었으며 전달식에는 황규철 옥천군수, 옥천군장애인단체협의회 한규보 회장, 관내 장애인단체 회장 등 10여 명이 참석했다.

특장차량은 일반석 4인, 휠체어 2대가 탑승 가능하고 휠체어 슬로프, 고정벨트, 안전손잡이 등 다양한 안전·편의 장치가 탑재되어 있어 장애인의 안전하고 편안한 이동이 가능하다.

한편 지난 29일에도 옥천군은 군청 광장에서 안남·이원여성 자율방범대(이하 안남대, 이원 여성대)에 신형 순찰차량 ‘스타리아 9인승’ 2대를 전달했다.

그동안 안남대와 이원 여성대는 노후된 차량으로 인해 순찰활동에 어려움을 겪어왔으나 이번 차량 지원을 통해 보다 안정적이고 효율적인 방범활동이 가능해질 전망이다. 

현재 옥천군 자율방범대는 총 11대의 순찰차량을 운영 중이다. 군은 이처럼 노후 차량을 단계적으로 교체해 순찰환경을 지속적으로 개선해 나갈 계획이다. 또한 옥천군 자율방범대는 1개의 연합대와 지역별 12개대로 구성되어 231명이 활동하고 있으며 범죄 취약지역 순찰, 취약시간대 물놀이 관리구역 예찰, 교통계도, 취약계층 안심 귀가 서비스 제공 등 다양한 분야에서 지속적인 방범활동을 수행하고 있다.

황규철 옥천군수는 “이번 차량 지원으로 이용에 어려움을 겪었던 장애인들과 자율방범대에 실질적인 도움을 준 것 같아 뿌듯하다”고 말했다.
