군에 따르면 이번 조치는 지역사랑상품권 운영 지침 변경과 더불어 고물가와 내수 침체로 위축된 소비심리를 살리고 지역 소상공인의 매출 증대 및 지역경제 활성화를 위해 할인 혜택을 확대하기로 했다.

군은 올해 상반기 결초보은상품권 판매액이 약 97억원(6월 말 기준)에 이르고, 카드형 상품권 이용률이 높아짐에 따라 이번 구매·보유한도 상향으로 군민들의 실질적 혜택을 강화할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

현재 결초보은상품권은 1700여 개 가맹점에서 사용할 수 있으며 보은군 관내 29개 판매대행점이나 전용 앱(지역상품권 chak)을 통해 구매할 수 있다.

안진수 경제정책실장은 “결초보은카드 구매한도와 보유한도 상향을 통해 군민의 지역 내 소비를 장려하고, 지역 상권에 활력을 불어넣는 계기가 되길 바란다”라며 “앞으로도 군민과 소상공인이 상생할 수 있도록 지역화폐 운영에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
