이 사업은 장애인의 독서기반 문화 조성, 정서적 안정 지원, 사회교류 촉진을 위해 조성되었으며 장애인들의 독서기반 문화 형성과 정서적 안정을 지원하는 것을 목표한다.

사업은 전래동화 독서프로그램, 봉사단체와의 연계 활동(전래동화 읽어주기, 자율독서, 전래놀이 등)으로 구성된다. 지역사회에서 꾸준히 봉사활동을 이어가고 있는 복지관과 봉사단은 이번 협업을 통해 발달장애인과 지역사회 간의 유기적인 교류가 이루어질 것으로 보인다.

신청은 옥천군에 거주하는 발달장애인이라면 누구나 옥천군장애인복지관 사회참여지원팀으로 신청 가능하며 월 1회씩 진행된다.

양 기관(단체)은 이번 업무 협약을 통해 상호 협력체계를 구축하고 장애인 평생교육 및 독서문화 발전을 지원할 계획이다.
