【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군이 추진해 온 적극적인 인구정책과 대규모 주택 공급 효과로 내국인 인구가 9만2400명을 돌파하며 큰 폭의 인구 증가세를 이어 나가고 있다. 

행정안전부 주민등록인구 통계에 따르면, 2025년 6월 30일 기준 음성군 내국인 인구수는 9만2422명을 기록해 2021년 9만2116명 이후 최대치를 경신했다. 

올해 상반기에만 전년 대비 1186명이 증가하는 기염을 토했고, 내국인 수 증가는 전국 군 단위에서 무안군에 이어 높은 수치다.

이러한 인구 증가는 전국적으로 저출생과 고령화가 가속화되는 가운데 이뤄낸 성과라 더욱 주목된다.

군은 지난해 심각한 인구 자연 감소와 타 지역 유출 등으로 인구 9만 명대가 무너질 위기가 있었으나, 민관산학이 한마음이 돼 추진한 ‘내고장 음성愛 주소갖기’ 운동과 함께 공동주택 공급, 대기업 투자유치, 일자리 창출 등 전방위적 인구 유입 정책을 통해 2017년 이후 7년 만에 인구 증가세로 전환됐다.

군은 ‘내고장 음성愛 주소갖기’ 운동을 지속 추진하는 한편, 각 마을 이장과의 협업을 통한 ‘1마을 1전입’ 운동으로 실거주하는 숨은 인구를 적극 발굴하는 등 정착 인구 확보에 집중할 계획이다.

또한 기업체와 대학교를 직접 찾아가는 주소이전 서비스를 운영하고, 부서 전담제를 통해 관계기관과 단체에 전입 홍보를 강화하는 등 다각적인 노력을 기울이고 있다.

올해 하반기에도 3927세대의 대규모 공동주택 추가 준공이 예정돼 있어 인구 증가세는 더욱 가속화될 것으로 전망된다.
