【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=증평군보건소 치매안심센터가 치매안심마을 주민을 대상으로 인지 자극과 정서적 안정에 도움을 주는 ‘손부업’ 활동을 본격 추진하며 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.

손부업 활동은 일상생활에서 쉽게 할 수 있는 소근육 활용 작업을 통해 어르신들의 인지기능을 유지하고, 사회적 고립감을 줄이기 위해 마련됐다. 

특히 치매 고위험군이 집중된 마을을 대상으로 예방교육과 부업활동을 함께 진행함으로써 참여율과 프로그램 효과를 높이고 있으며, 주민들의 자기 효능감 향상은 물론 마을 단위 소득 창출이라는 일거양득의 성과를 거두고 있다.

현재 이 사업은 도안면 화성3리 마을을 중심으로 지난 2월부터 운영 중이며, 오는 12월까지 연중 지속된다.

손부업 활동은 지역 내 업체인 WJ테크의 협력으로 부품 조립 및 포장 작업 등 간단한 부업 형태로 제공돼 어르신들이 무리 없이 참여할 수 있도록 구성됐다.

프로그램에 참여한 한 어르신은 "단순한 부업이 아니라, 내가 무언가를 해낼 수 있다는 자신감을 얻어 기쁘다”며 만족감을 드러냈다.

보건소 관계자는 “손을 사용하는 활동은 치매 예방에 효과적인 비약물적 치료방법 중 하나로, 이번 사업은 주민 간 유대감 형성과 지역 돌봄문화 조성에도 큰 의미가 있다”며 “앞으로도 마을 단위 맞춤형 치매예방사업을 지속 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
