군은 장애인에게 양질의 일자리 제공을 통한 소득 보장·고용지원 강화를 위해 장애인일반형일자리사업 배치기관 확대 추진계획을 수립했다.

그 결과의 하나로, 음성군 직속기관(읍·면)이 장애인일자리 배치기관으로 확대·참여할 예정이다.

또한 군은 장애인의 소득·고용보장을 위해 보건복지부에 지속해서 장애인 일자리의 공급 확대를 요구했다.

이에 지난 2022년 95개를 시작으로, 2023년 104개, 2024년 121개의 일자리를 창출했으며, 2025년에는 128개 일자리, 20억의 예산을 확보하는 등 매년 장애인일자리 확충에 성공했다.

장애인의 유형별 특수성을 고려해 전일제 및 시간제 등 일반형 일자리 48명, 복지일자리(참여형, 특수교육형) 64명, 발달장애인요양보호사 보조일자리 9명 등 분야별로 다양한 일자리를 발굴했으며, 10월 말 현재 기준 138명의 장애인이 정부 일자리에 참여했다.
