【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도학생수련원(원장 안병대)이 22일 괴산중학교 학생 27명이 참여하는 충주탐험과정 프로그램을 시작으로, 진천, 충주, 괴산, 영동, 옥천 등 5개 거점지역에서 사전 신청한 168교, 6,440명의 학생을 대상으로 지역의 인프라를 활용한 자기성장 프로그램을 운영한다.

자기성장 프로그램은 야영과 트래킹, 카약킹 등 자연을 체험하고 탐험하는 활동과, 학생 스스로 목표를 설정하고 성취할 수 있는 성취포상제도 연계로 자기주도적 능력을 함양하고, 목표 의식을 길러주는 활동이다.

충주탐험과정에 참가한 괴산중학교의 한 학생은 “조정 체험을 할 때 물에 빠지지 않을까 걱정도 되고, 처음에는 친구들과 호흡도 잘 안 맞아 방향 잡기도 어려웠는데 친구들과 얘기하면서 호흡을 맞추다 보니 방향도 잘 맞고 우리가 생각한 지점까지 잘 갈 수 있었다.”라며 참가 소감을 밝혔다.

안병대 학생수련원장은 “학생들이 삶의 주인으로서 스스로 성장하는 법을 알아가는 과정이 필요하다. 자연 속에서 친구들과 함께 목표를 이루어가는 활동을 통해 성취감과 행복함을 느끼는 청소년이 될 수 있도록 지원하겠다”라며 운영 계획을 밝혔다.
