【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=서원대학교(총장 손석민)와 단양군(군수 김문근)이 평생교육 활성화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

  13일 단양군청 군수실에서 열린 협약식에는 서원대학교 손석민 총장, 김문근 단양군수 등 20여 명이 참석한 가운데 평생교육 플랫폼을 구축하고 평생교육 사업을 공동으로 추진할 것을 약속했다.

  이번 협약을 통해 서원대학교는 단양군에 평생･직업 교육, 지역 인재 양성, 이러닝 콘텐츠 제공 등을 통해 평생교육 플랫폼 구축을 지원하며, 단양군은 서원대학교의 평생교육체제 지원 사업에 협력하고 지역 내 평생교육 거버넌스 구축과 평생교육 사업 운영을 추진한다.

  손석민 총장은 “이번 협약을 통해 서원대학교가 보유한 평생교육 역량을 활용해 대학교가 없는 단양군에 사이버캠퍼스 개념의 혁신적인 평생교육 모델을 추진하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

  한편 서원대학교는 1987년에 평생교육사 양성을 시작했으며 평생교육 단과대학인 ‘미래대학’을 운영하고 있다. 아울러 평생교육 전공 석사와 박사 과정을 운영하며 지역의 평생교육을 선도하고 있다.
