【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군(군수 조병옥)은 지속 가능한 성장과 미래 먹거리 산업으로 선정한 ‘4+1 신성장산업(△에너지 신산업 △시스템반도체 △이차전지 △헬스케어 + △기후대응농업)’을 집중 육성하면서 미래 100년 먹거리 선점에 발 빠르게 움직이는 모습이다.

이중 특히 ‘에너지 신산업(E:Energy)’은 인프라 구축이 착착 진행되고 있어 경쟁력 확보에 자신감을 내비치고 있다.

이를 위해 군은 정부 공모사업, 정부 지원사업, 민간사업 등의 유치로 2조5261억원의 투자를 끌어내고 탄소중립을 선도해 2030 음성시 건설을 위한 엔진 점화에 박차를 가한다는 방침이다.

군의 ‘에너지 신산업 육성’의 핵심 전략은 △에너지 안전‧교육‧표준화 특화 클러스터 구축 △에너지 기반 신산업 생태계 마련 △에너지 신산업 육성 및 특화단지 조성이다.

이미 군은 한국가스안전공사가 있는 충북혁신도시에 전국 최초로 체험형 수소 가스안전 복합시설인 ‘수소안전뮤지엄’을 성공적으로 유치해 지난해 11월 준공했다.

성본산업단지에는 수소 산업 장비 부품 분야의 핵심 기관인 ‘수소버스‧충전소 부품시험평가센터’가 공사 중이고, 금왕테크노밸리산단에는 전국 최초이자 유일한 ‘액화수소 검사지원센터’가 건립 중이다. 

이같이 군은 수소 안전 표준화 시설 집적을 통해 우수한 연구인력 유입과 수소 관련 핵심 부품 기업을 유치한다는 작전이다.

여기에 지난해 9월 개교한 ‘충북 음성 산학융합지구’를 통해 신‧재생에너지 교육과 우수인력을 양성하고 수소안전기술원 유치, KCL과 협업으로 에너지‧환경 시험인증 기반을 마련해 R&D 수행 기반도 마련한다는 계획이다.

세계 각국은 화석연료로 인한 지구온난화와 에너지 확보 경쟁이 날로 심화함에 따라 태양광‧풍력‧지열 등의 재생에너지를 점차 확대해 에너지 자립과 탄소중립을 준비하고 있다.
