【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=제8대 반기문 유엔사무총장의 고향인 음성군에서 뛰는 ‘제17회 반기문마라톤대회’가 4월 30일 음성종합운동장에서 4년 만에 개최된다.

‘대한민국의 중심 행복한 도시, 상상이 현실이 되는 상상대로 음성’에서 열리는 이번 마라톤대회는 코로나19로 개최되지 못하다가 드디어 출발선에 다시 서게 됐다. 

음성종합운동장에서 출발해 감우재를 넘어 사정리 저수지와 금왕읍 시가지를 통과하고 생극면 오생리에서 반환해 음성종합운동장으로 돌아오는 42.195km의 공인된 코스로, 봄날의 햇살을 담은 수변도로·가로수길·꽃길 등 음성의 아름다운 4월의 도로를 만끽하며 달릴 수 있다. 

대회 종목은 거리에 따라 풀, 하프, 10km, 5km의 4개 코스로 초심자부터 상급자까지 개개인의 신체 능력에 맞는 코스를 선택해 마라톤의 즐거움을 느낄 수 있다.

풀코스와 하프코스는 4인 1조의 단체대항전이 있어 가족, 친구, 모임, 동호인클럽 등 지인들과 함께 어울려 기록을 세울 수 있는 재미도 선사한다.

또 대회 당일에는 반기문 유엔사무총장 부부가 참석해 참가자들을 응원할 예정이다.

올해로 17회째를 맞는 반기문마라톤대회는 매회 대회를 개최할 때마다 유엔 평화정신을 실천하기 위해 유니세프 국제연합아동기금을 조성하고 있어 마라톤과 평화라는 뜻깊은 의미를 더하고 있다.

군과 체육회는 대회의 성공 개최를 위해 만반의 준비를 하며, 전국에서 열리는 마라톤대회를 찾아다니는 등 홍보에 박차를 가하고 있다.

4월 30일 오전 9시 음성종합운동장에서 출발하며, 대회 당일 참가자에게는 기념품, 먹을거리(막걸리, 국수, 두부김치)와 더불어 냉장고, TV, 세탁기 등 푸짐한 경품도 제공된다.  

대회 참가신청은 4월 10일까지 대회 온라인 홈페이지(제17회 반기문마라톤대회 )와 음성군체육회 사무국을 통해 신청할 수 있다.

조병옥 음성군수는 “4년 만에 열리는 만큼 여느 때보다 풍성한 대회가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”며 “뜨거운 열정과 활력 넘치는 반기문마라톤대회에 동호인들의 많은 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.
