대여 희망자는 보건소에 직접 방문하지 않고 각 읍·면 보건지소, 진료소에 사전 문의 후 담당 직원이 보건소에서 혈압계와 혈당기를 받아 대상자에게 전달한다. 

1인당 4주 대여 후 필요에 따라 최대 4주 연장할 수 있으며, 측정기와 함께 기본 소모품(혈당스틱, 알콜솜 등)과 건강관리수첩을 지원한다.

또한 대여 시 정상 혈압·혈당 수치 유지를 위해 올바른 측정기 사용법과 건강관리수첩 기록 방법을 지도하고 건강한 생활습관을 실천할 수 있도록 대상자별 맞춤형 1:1 건강 상담 및 교육을 시행한다.

한편 원거리 지역 주민을 위해 청성보건지소, 청산보건지소에 혈압․혈당 측정기를 3대씩 비치해 자체 관리하고 있다.
