【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=진천군 광혜원산업단지에 소재한 CJ HDC 비오솔(대표 정중규) 진천공장 준공식이 18일 개최됐다. 

  이날 준공식에는 송기섭 진천군수, 정중규 CJ HDC 비오솔 대표, 최은석 CJ제일제당(주) 대표, 정경구 HDC 대표, 회사 관계자, 내외 귀빈 등 50여명이 참석했다. 

  CJ HDC 비오솔은 CJ제일제당의 다양한 바이오 소재를 기반으로 국내 컴파운드 제조사 1위인 HDC현대EP의 독보적인 기술 경쟁력을 더한 바이오 전문 컴파운딩 합작회사로 비오솔 제품은 토양에 일정 기간 매립된 상태에서 생분해가 진행되는 것으로 알려져 있다.

  기존 HDC 현대EP 부지에 사업비 240억 원을 투자해 부지면적 16,530㎡에 연면적 12,060㎡의 규모로 글로벌 그린 프로덕트 허브를 구축했으며 올해 연간 1만 1천톤 생산 능력 확보, 향후 2만 5천톤 규모로 생산량을 증설할 계획이다.

  이를 통해 전 세계적인 플라스틱 저감과 기업들의 ESG 경영에 핵심적인 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
