【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=제천교육지원청 제30대 김명철(사진) 교육장은 9월 1일 제천교육지원청 대회의실에서 취임식을 갖고 업무를 시작한다.

김명철 교육장은 부산광역시 강서구 출신으로 충북대학교 역사교육과를 졸업하고 충북대 교육대학원 역사교육과 전공 석사학위를 취득하였다.

지난 1990년 목도중 교사를 시작으로 교직에 입문하여 증평중, 금천고, 청주고, 제천동중에서 제자들을 길러내었고 2018년 3월부터 2022년 8월까지 현도중, 봉명고, 금천고 교장 등을 역임한 김명철 교육장은 온화하고 도덕성을 두루 갖추고 지역사회의 화합과 협력을 이끌어낼 수 있는 교육자이다.

김명철 교육장은 취임사에서 행복한 미래를 꿈꾸는 학생, 학생들과 더불어 성장하는 선생님, 학부모와 지역사회가 함께하는 제천 교육, 3가지 슬로건을 실현하기 위하여 “도전과 용기로 창의성과 다양성의 핵심역량을 키우는 지속가능한 미래 교육, 정의롭고 진취적인 역사와 전통을 계승하는 지역사랑 나라사랑 교육, 공감과 동행으로 자치와 협력하는 가슴이 따뜻한 어울림 교육, 소통과 책임으로 현장을 지원하여 지역과 상생하는 행복한 환경 교육 도시를 위하여 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
