양방향으로 길을 만들려면 예산을 더 마련하여 현 기존도로에서 둘레길을 별도로 만들어야 한다. 

이범석 청주시장은 양방향 건설에 따른 추가 예산 확보와 둘레길을 최적으로 만들기 위한 TF팀을 만들어 사업추진에 총력을 기울이고 있다. 

청주병원 명도 소송 진행 

청주시청사 건립을 위한 청주병원 이전 문제는 충북도 지방토지수용위원회를 거쳐  중앙토지수용위원회 결정을 받아 178억 5393만8210원을 전액 법원에 공탁을 걸었다. 

이에 대해 청주병원은 2019년에 2차에 걸쳐 172억 1288만 9154원을 인출했으며 현재 남아있는 금액은 중앙토지신탁위원에서 증액된 6억4103만 9660원이 공탁금 잔액이다. 

이에 대해 청주시는 청주병원 비워 달라고 요구했고 청주병원 측은 현재 입원해 있는 환자들과 현실적인 보상금이 아니라는 이유로 병원 이전을 거부해 왔다.  

청주시는 청주병원을 상대로 명도 소송을 진행했고 1심에서 승소해 2심은 오는 8월 24일 오후 2시 대전고법 청주지원에서 최종 판결될 예정이다. 

현재까지 소문은 청주병원이 책정된 보상금액 178억 원으로는 청주시내 어디에서도 병원을 이전하거나 개원할 수 없는 금액이라며 반발하고 있다.

청주병원은 명도 소송과는 별도로 청주시를 상대로 영업비 보상과 보상금액 현실화에 따른 소송을 진행하고 있다. 

2021년 청주병원의 어려움을 청주시의회에서 호소해 5분 발언 등 일부 의원들의 움직임이 있었지만, 대의명분이 없다는 이유로 대다수 의원의 동의를 얻지 못했다.
