【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군(군수 김재종)과 충북대학교박물관(관장 김영관)은 19일 옥천군민의 역사 문화 향유권 확대와 옥천박물과 건립 추진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다. 

이번 협약으로 옥천군은 대표적인 대학박물관인 충북대학교박물관과 박물관 건립 추진 및 운영에 관한 자문 및 지원에 대해 공동으로 협력한다. 

또한 역사·문화 관련 정보교류 및 연구, 학술행사 개최, 전시 및 연구를 위한 자료대여, 양 기관 전시 및 문화사업 홍보에도 협조한다.

충북대학교박물관은 1970년 9월에 개관하여 중요민속문화재 5건 286점 등 동산문화재 7,500여점과 구석기시대 유물 30,000여점을 소장하고 있다. 

박물관은 1970년대 대청댐 건설로 인한 수몰지역에 대한 문화유적 지표조사와 1977년 옥천 석탄리 고인돌 및 선돌의 발굴을 담당했던 조사기관이였으며, 다양한 수몰자료(사진 등)를 보유하고 있다. 

군 관계자는“이번 협약을 계기로 소장 유물의 열람과 정보 공유 등 다양한 분야에서 꾸준히 협조하여 옥천 지역의 역사성을 강화할 계획이다”고 말했다. 

한편, 옥천군은 지난해 11월 공립박물관 설립타당성 사전평가에서 옥천박물관이 통과됨에 따라 내실 있는 박물관 건립 추진을 준비하고 있으며, 2023년 실시설계를 바탕으로 2024년 착공 및 2026년 개관을 목표로 하고 있다.

Okcheon-gun (Governor Kim Jae-jong) and Chungbuk National University Museum (Director Kim Young-gwan) signed a business agreement on the 19th to expand the right to enjoy history and culture of Okcheon-gun residents and to promote the establishment of the Okcheon Museum.

With this agreement, Okcheon-gun will cooperate with Chungbuk National University Museum, a representative university museum, on advice and support regarding the promotion and operation of the museum.

In addition, it cooperates with information exchange and research related to history and culture, holding academic events, lending materials for exhibitions and research, and promoting exhibitions and cultural projects between the two institutions.

The Chungbuk National University Museum opened in September 1970 and has about 7,500 pieces of movable cultural properties, including 5 pieces of important folk cultural properties, and about 30,000 pieces of Paleolithic relics.

The museum was a research organization that was in charge of the surface survey of cultural relics in the submerged area due to the Daecheong Dam construction in the 1970s and the excavation of dolmens and dolmens in Okcheon-gun in 1977.
