【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주의 대표적 무형문화유산인 택견이 지역 학생들의 몸과 마음을 키우는 교육 자원으로 본격 활용된다.

(사)한국택견협회는 지난 30일 충주교육지원청에서 충청북도충주교육지원청과 ‘택견 교육 활성화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 지역의 상징적인 문화유산인 택견을 매개로 양 기관이 인적·물적 자원을 공유하고, 학생들의 전인적 성장을 돕는 탄탄한 교육 지원 체계를 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.

양 기관은 협약에 따라 ▲학교 교육과 연계한 택견 교육 확산 ▲지역 사회 연계 교육 환경 조성 ▲전문 강사 파견을 통한 내실 있는 교육 지원 등에 적극 협력하기로 했다.

특히 한국택견협회는 택견 지정학교를 대상으로 숙련된 전문 강사를 파견해 교육의 질을 높이는 한편, 학생들이 ‘시민택견체조경연대회’ 등 지역 행사에 참여할 수 있도록 지원하며 택견의 대중화와 실질적인 교육 성과를 거두는 데 집중할 계획이다.

문대식 한국택견협회 총재는 “자라나는 학생들에게 택견을 전수하는 것은 단순한 무술 교육을 넘어 바른 인성과 공동체 정신을 물려주는 소중한 과정”이라며 “이번 협약이 충북 전역으로 택견의 가치가 널리 퍼지는 기폭제가 되길 기대한다”고 전했다.

유충석 충주교육지원청 교육장은 “지역의 소중한 자산인 택견을 통해 학생들이 건강한 신체와 올바른 정신을 함께 함양할 기틀이 마련되어 매우 뜻깊다”고 화답했다.

협회와 교육지원청은 향후 실무 협의를 통해 구체적인 세부 교육 프로그램 운영 방안을 확정하고, 지역 특색을 살린 택견 교육 활동에 박차를 가할 예정이다.

Taekgyeon, a representative intangible cultural heritage of Chungju, is set to be fully utilized as an educational resource to nurture the bodies and minds of local students.

The Korea Taekgyeon Association announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chungju Office of Education of North Chungcheong Province on the 30th at the Chungju Office of Education.

This agreement was established to build a robust educational support system that aids the holistic growth of students by sharing human and material resources through Taekgyeon, a symbolic cultural heritage of the region.

Under the agreement, both organizations agreed to actively cooperate on: ▲ expanding Taekgyeon education linked to school curriculum; ▲ creating an educational environment connected to the local community; and ▲ providing substantial educational support through the dispatch of professional instructors. In particular, the Korea Taekgyeon Association plans to focus on popularizing Taekgyeon and achieving tangible educational results by dispatching skilled professional instructors to designated Taekgyeon schools to enhance the quality of education, while also supporting students in participating in local events such as the ‘Citizen Taekgyeon Gymnastics Competition.’

Moon Dae-sik, President of the Korea Taekgyeon Association, stated, “Passing on Taekgyeon to growing students is a precious process that goes beyond simple martial arts education to instill sound character and a sense of community,” adding, “I hope this agreement will serve as a catalyst for spreading the value of Taekgyeon throughout Chungbuk.”

Yoo Chung-seok, Superintendent of the Chungju Office of Education, responded, “It is very meaningful that a foundation has been laid for students to cultivate both a healthy body and a sound mind through Taekgyeon, a valuable asset of the region.”

The Association and the Office of Education plan to finalize specific operational plans for detailed educational programs through future working-level consultations and accelerate Taekgyeon educational activities that reflect the unique characteristics of the region.
