【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=제천시립도서관이 도서관과 사서 업무에 관심 있는 중학생들을 위해 현장감 넘치는 진로 체험 기회를 마련했다.

제천시립도서관은 관내 중학생을 대상으로 ‘2026년 상반기 청소년 사서 북틴(book-teen)’ 참가자를 모집한다고 4일 밝혔다.

‘북틴’은 청소년들이 도서관 현장에서 사서의 역할을 직접 경험하며 관련 직업에 대한 이해를 높이고 자신의 적성을 탐색할 수 있도록 돕는 도서관 특화 프로그램이다.

특히 도서관 측은 청소년들의 참여 문턱을 낮추기 위해 기존의 장기 운영 방식에서 벗어나, 학교 학사일정과 시험 기간 등을 고려한 1~2개월 단기 특강 형태로 운영 방식을 전격 전환했다. 이번 프로그램은 오는 5월 23일부터 6월 20일까지 매주 토요일, 총 4회에 걸쳐 진행된다.

참여 학생들은 도서의 대출과 반납은 물론, 도서를 선정하는 수서 업무, 책을 분류하는 법, 이용자에게 책을 소개하는 큐레이션 등 사서의 핵심 업무 전반을 체험하게 된다.

북틴 활동을 마친 학생들에게는 다양한 혜택이 주어진다. ▲도서관 우수회원 전환을 통한 대출 권수 확대 ▲1365 자원봉사포털 실적(회당 2시간) 등록 ▲명예 사서증 수여 등의 특전이 제공될 예정이다.
