On the 13th Tuberculosis Prevention Day, the Danyang County Public Health Center started raising awareness about tuberculosis.

The county public health center announced on the 28th that it had carried out an intensive publicity campaign to prevent tuberculosis, such as leaflets containing accurate information about tuberculosis, in the market and shopping areas.

Anyone in the county who wants tuberculosis screening can receive free checkup and treatment at the tuberculosis room of public health centers, and publicity has been promoted so that those aged 65 or older can receive tuberculosis screening once a year free of charge.

Tuberculosis infection occurs when tuberculosis bacilli are released into the air through coughing, sneezing, and talking in patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis. Cough, the most common symptom, is observed in colds, asthma, and bronchitis.

Most cold symptoms improve after about a week, so if a cough persists for more than two weeks without a specific cause, the possibility of tuberculosis should be suspected.

A military official said, “TB is a disease that can be cured if detected and treated early, so early detection and prevention are the most important.”

On the other hand, the cough etiquette for tuberculosis prevention practiced in daily life is to wear a mask if coughing persists, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue instead of your hand when coughing or sneezing, and cover your mouth and nose with your upper sleeve if you do not have a tissue. , After coughing or sneezing, properly wash your hands with soap under running water for at least 30 seconds.
