【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=보은군은 지난 17일 마로면 오천리 일원에서 독립유공자 어윤석, 어경선 선생의 추모비 건립 제막식이 거행됐다고 밝혔다.

이날 제막식은 최재형 보은군수, 최부림 보은군의회 의장, 어윤석, 어경선 선생 유족회(대표 어임수), 오천2리 마을회(이장 류호빈) 주민, 보은문화재지킴이(회장 유재관) 회원 등 100명이 참석한 가운데 추모비 경과보고, 헌사, 기념사, 축사, 헌화, 제막 순으로 행사가 진행됐다.

조국광복을 위해 일본제국주의자들의 억압에 맞서 싸우다 희생하신 독립유공자 어윤석, 어경선 선생의 정신을 기리기 위해 오천2리 마을회는 부지를 제공했으며, 유족회에서 추모비를 건립했다.

심재 어윤석(魚允奭)(1846.5.6.~1898.2.17.) 선생과 아들 일암 어경선(魚敬善) (1869.2.5.~1916.7.21.) 선생은 1883년 경기도 광주군 구천면 고덕리(현 서울시 강동구 고덕동)에서 외세를 피해 남하해 보은군 마로면 오천리에 정착했으며, 1895년 명성황후 시해 이듬해인 1896년에 유인석이 이끈 제천의병에서 활동하는 등 일제의 침략에 맞서 국내·외에서 항일운동에 앞장섰으며, 2005년 8월 15일 어윤석, 어경선 선생에게 독립유공자 건국포장이 추서됐다.
