 군은 지난 13일 군청 상황실에서 정영철 영동군수 주재로, 각 부서 부서장이 참석한 가운데‘2024년도 정부예산확보 추진상황 보고회’를 가지며 국비확보체제를 점검했다. 

 주요 현안사업의 원활한 추진 방안과 국비확보의 세심한 전략을 모색하기 위한 자리다.

 군은 코로나19에 이어, 물가상승 등 여러 불안정한 대내외 환경 속에서 열악한 재정 극복과 지역 미래발전을 위한 최고 대안을 국가예산의 확보로 보고 있다.

 그렇기에 연초부터 예산심의 동향 파악, 국가 정책방향에 맞춘 대응전략 마련, 지역구 국회의원·중앙부처 방문 등 편성 순기보다 한 박자 빠르게 전략적인 예산확보 활동을 추진하고 있다.

 이날 보고회에서 참석자들은 부서별로 주요 사업의 정부예산 확보상황과 향후 계획을 집중 논의했다.

 군의 군민 행복을 이끌고 지역경제 활성화를 위해 정부 예산을 최대로 확보한다는 각오로 내년도 정부예산 확보 목표액을 지난해 2,117억원보다 74억원 정도가 증가한 2,191억원으로 잡았다.

 다양한 시도와 노력으로 군정 역량 전반이 향상되고 노하우가 쌓여, 3년연속 2천억원 이상 정부예산 확보라는 성과를 내고 있지만, 군은 그에 안주하지 않고 군민들이 변화를 체감할 수 있는 양질의 사업 추진에 주력하기로 했다.

 이날 보고된 주요 신규사업으로는 노지포도 스마트농업단지(272억원), 지역특화 임대형 스마트팜 단지(158억원), 전통시장 주차환경개선(28억원) 등 28개사업이 보고되었다.

 주요 계속사업은 영동읍 농촌중심지활성화(51억원), 영동군 국민체육건강센터 건립(47억원), 일라이트 지식산업센터 건립(31억원) 등 40개 사업이다.

 군은 이후 지역특성을 반영한 치밀한 전략 설정과 투자 당위성을 뒷받침할 논리개발과 함께 중앙부처·정치권과의 긴밀한 소통을 지속 이어갈 방침이다.
