조 군수는 13일 환경부와 보건복지부를 차례로 방문해 산업단지 노후 오폐수관로 개량사업 사업과 상병수당 선정 등 내년도 정부예산 확보에 적극 나섰다.

조 군수는 군의 현재 상황과 앞으로의 계획을 설명하며 사업의 당위성을 적극 어필했다.

현재 오폐수 관로의 경우 부식성 가스로 인한 씽크홀 등 사고가 수시 발생해 군민이 사고 위험에 노출돼 있을 뿐만 아니라 군 내 산업단지 공공폐수처리시설의 안정적인 운영을 위해 시설 설치가 시급한 상황이다.

특히 군은 2021년 금왕산업단지 근처에서 발생한 씽크홀 사고로 군비 5억6천만원을 투입해 긴급 보수했으며 현재는 대풍, 대소 산업단지를 중심으로 노후 오폐수관로 정밀조사 용역을 발주한 상황이다.

이어서 조 군수는 보건복지부 관계자를 만나 상병수당 2단계 시범사업 지역 선정 공모사업에 충북 최대 산업도시이자 도농복합도시로 상병수당 시범사업 실증 및 다양한 사례 축적에 최적지인 음성군이 선정될 수 있도록 지원을 건의했다.

상병수당은 근로자가 근로 외의 질병·부상으로 경제활동이 어려운 경우 치료에 집중할 수 있도록 소득을 보전하는 사회보장제도로 2025년 본격 도입을 앞두고 지난해 7월부터 시범지역을 선정해 추진 중이다.

이번 시범사업은 모형별 비교분석과 사례축적으로 2년 뒤 본격 시행하는 상병수당 제도의 성공적인 정착에 교두보 역할을 할 것으로 기대되며, 군은 타 지자체보다 앞서 군민들이 수혜를 볼 수 있도록 선정을 위해 최선을 다한다는 방침이다.
